The fibercement material which is produced by Hekim Yapı A.Ş., one of the group companies of Hekim Holding enlivened with ‘the MODULATOR’ and became the representative of its changing face, with the digital design and manufacturing technologies of the architecture.
“The Modulator” has been designed, in response to the environmental circumstances, by Cem Korkmaz, Belamir Köse, Fırat Özgenel and Matte Csocsics, who are students, in the studio, which is conducted by Associate Dr. Prof. Arzu Gönenç Sorguç, with the support of Associate Dr. Mine Özkar and Research Assistant Fatma Zehra Çakıcı, in the Department of Architecture of Middle East Technical University (METU). It, at the same time exemplifies a new understanding of structure as well.

The design which is a result of the design understanding which is based on the formation by cutting pieces by numerical control from the natural fiber reinforced fibercement, and affixing them to each other, and, in the architecture, insurability of machine accuracy, of minimum material waste, and of adaptation to the environmental circumstances, and performance, is an indicator of contemporary education understanding, which is the mission of METU’s Department of Architecture.
