Prefabrik Yapi A.S., one of the group companies of Hekim Holding, will build 8-storey buildings by using light steel technology for the first time in Turkey with its facilities taken into the investment program of 2013 and their construction still continuing.
Civil Engineer Mustafa Tolunay, Deputy General Manager of Prefabrik Yapi A.S. explained total area of the steel buildings produced since 1992 exceeds 1.000.000 m2, target is to be compatible with developing technologies and to improve them furthermore with new investments in technology and he emphasized they will basically put into practice a system where developing technologies can be used in the production system. He stated they will increase their competitive power in the international arena with these facilities becoming active and by meeting the demands which will be placed from domestic and international markets, and concluded “Contribution to national economy and thus to employment increase will be provided by means of import substitution constituted with the new technology.”
Tolunay emphasized that most important need is shelter in disasters in Turkey, a country of disasters, “This problem is eliminated even if there is a large number of suffering people in the region, which should be reached at in the shortest time. It’s even possible to build a city. Our new technology is a requirement to the responsibility we have to our country, as well. We aim to offer safe places to live with the production of more durable, higher quality and more technological buildings with the increase of steel building utilization in our country which faces the reality of natural disasters, especially earthquakes.” he said.
Tolunay said building components and products produced with this new technology are made of 90% recycled steel material and added, “These buildings are environment-friendly and a product of sustainable architecture by their nature. The advantages of the system on the subjects of fire and insulation stand out with the utilization of fiber cement which is A-1 class incombustible and an entirely environment-friendly material used in the coating of all our steel carcasses. So, designs to be composed within the frame of green building and ecological building criteria shall be fulfilled in maximum efficiency with this technology.”
Deputy General Manager Mustafa Tolunay gave the below information regarding the technology new in use: “In the prefab building sector it is inevitable to apply buildings which have better quality, built faster, more spacey, sturdier and higher in the direction of requests coming from the customers and requirements. We believe we will offer the most ideal solutions to the requirements of our customers with our new investment designed within this scope.”
From now on it is easy to transfer cities
Tolunay explained that currently 2-4 storey high precast light steel buildings are carried through in Turkey with the existing technology and machine lines used in our country, “We will be able to design and carry through applications of buildings upto 8-storey by virtue of the new technology used in multi storey light steel building system.” he said.
Tolunay said, “This technology not only provides ideal conditions for housing, but for many public buildings such as school buildings, student residence halls, military buildings, healthcare buildings, as well. Our new product groups for assembling mobile buildings at the border and beyond, fire department, hospital, police station, military installations etc. in disasters, mobilization and refugee resettlement which are states of emergency, provide emergency building facility. Light steel high rise system is ideal in these circumstances due to small dimensions of the land and infrastructure not occupying much space.”
Mustafa Tolunay defines the new investment as “the most advantageous building system to choose in urban transformation” and continues, “We think light steel high rise building technology utilization will be evaluated as an important opportunity in the urban transformation process our country is going through and will be preferred especially in the parcels where land value is very high. Besides it is constructed 3 times faster than a traditional building system. Buildings with maximum energy performance and providing very special comfort conditions to users will be able to be produced by virtue of providing flexible design criteria in architecture. Efficiency and effectiveness will be increased by eliminating unnecessary use of material. Higher quality and lower cost products will be offered to the users.”
The new factory construction of Prefabrik Yapi A.S. continues in Hendek 2nd Organized Industrial Site in Adapazari and production of light steel high rise buildings will begin within 2013.
